Ever since his album HUQA PAANI released, Ali Zafar has been a known name on both sides of the border. His tracks in the album created quite an impression and soon he turned out to be one of the most sought young talents around.

His return with the album MASTY has justified the hype around him as yet again he has arrived with an album that is young at heart and is catching up well with the music lovers. After the music video of the first promotional number ‘Sun Re Sajaniya’, he is now seen rocking the show with ‘Masty Ke Din’, the title song, where he has managed to create quite a storm.

A number that takes you back to the stage shows set in early 80s films with Kishore Kumar in full throttle, ‘Masty Ke Din’ has been picturised and choreographed well too with an out and out rock look and feel given to it.

Ali Zafar makes great use of the platform provided by director Shiraz Bhattacharya as he gives an all around performance to ensure that the song is noticed not just for its music but also the way it looks.

I remember noticing Ali Zafar in Abrar-ul- Haq’s song Preeto for the first time. His boyish good looks and shy smile were enough to catch anyone’s attention. I must admit I too was a part of the huge clan of girls who were rooting for him to win Preeto’s heart. But Abrar seemed to have other plans! Later when Ali returned in his own number Channo, we realized he could not only sing, but sing beautifully. And after the success of his album Huqqa Pani, there was not a soul on earth who could keep us away from making him SP’s Heartthrob of the month!.

Basking in the success of his debut album Huqqa Pani, Ali has proved he is more than just a pretty face. But even though his album Huqqa Pani has become an instant best seller, Ali Zafar has both feet on the ground and seems unaffected by all the hullabaloo. When asked whether he is still modelling now that he’s professionally started singing, he replied casually, “I see myself as more of a singer than a model. Singing requires a lot more brains and is a lot more expressive. Modelling is all about the way you look and being just another face does not really appeal to me.” But was it not ‘looks’ that landed him a role in Abrar’s music video? “Well… I had always told myself that I’d not do any video that was not my own. But I made an exception for Preeto because the concept was so much fun, I just had to do it.”
